Tournament format
All players will play three games against randomly selected opponents. Players will get 5 points for first, 3 points for second, 2 points for third and 1 point for fourth in each game.
After three games, the four players with the highest number of points will advance to the one-game final.
If players have the same number of points after all three games, the player who has the highest combined score will be ranked higher. If a second tie-break is needed, the player who performed better in a head-to-head matchup between the tying players will be ranked higher. If a third tie-break is needed, a coin flip will determine who will be ranked higher.
Example 1: Mike and Curt finish three games with 6 points apiece. Mike has a combined score of 543 points during those three games, compared to Curt's 491 points. Mike will be ranked higher.
Example 2: Mike and Curt finish with 6 points apiece and the same combined score. During the second round, Mike and Curt played against each other and two other players. Curt finished that game ahead of Mike. Curt will be ranked higher.
Example 3: Mike and Curt finish with 6 points apiece and the same combined score. They did not play a game against each other. The charter commissioner flips a coin, Mike calls heads, the coin lands heads. Mike will be ranked higher.
